Harrisburg, Pennsylvania — U.S. Senator John Fetterman is under intense scrutiny coinciding with an explosion at an Iranian power plant. A massive blast was reported in the city of Karaj, according to footage shared on social media on Saturday night by The Jerusalem Post. Videos published by Iran International appeared to show a fire at the scene.
Reports indicate an earthquake was felt in Karaj, located northwest of Tehran; however, it was unclear whether the quake was triggered by the explosion.
Today’s explosion occurred days after another massive blast at an Iranian port killed at least 70 people and injured more than 1,000 others.
Coincidentally, during an interview with Washington Free Beacon last week, Senator Fetterman called for Iran’s nuclear facilities to be destroyed.
Fetterman has recently been criticized for his respectful relationship with President Trump, and yesterday a hit piece was published by New York Magazine questioning his fitness, and calling his behavior erratic. Similar reports were echoed by The New York Times and other major newspapers that aired grievances from his staffers who are concerned about his mental health, and his views on the Israel-Gaza War.
According to the report, his wife Gisele Fetterman allegedly betrayed John on multiple occasions when she texted staffers behind his back in the wake of their disagreements. Gisele then allegedly visited her husband’s senate office and got into a heated debate about his support for Israel.
A headline published by the Daily Caller described Mrs. Fetterman as “camera thirsty,” and said she did her husband dirty. Today, video emerged of John Fetterman refusing to wear his safety belt on a commercial airliner which allegedly caused a flight to Pittsburgh to be delayed.
New York Magazine reported that John was involved in a serious car wreck in May or June of 2024, one which injured his wife Gisele, after he ignored staffers’ concerns and got behind the wheel, then supposedly fell asleep.
Governor Josh Shapiro has not mentioned or appeared with John Fetterman since their publicized riff in August 2024.
John Fetterman’s relationship with Bernie Sanders appears to have been strained by their opposing positions on Israel. Former staffers of Fetterman who are also campaign consultants with Sanders have now launched a new firm aimed at winning back Democrat voters.
